Juventus Women were victorious against Zurich Women in their first game of the season, winning by 0-2. The Italian side were at home against Lyon Women of France, defending Champions this week for Day 2 game.
Lyon Women were very focused on the night, coming into this game from a loss to Arsenal. Horan put the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute to return the French club’s pride as the current champions.
However, Malard gave away an own goal to Juventus Women to make it 1-1 in the 52nd minute. Lyon Women only laboured in vain, after searching for every means to pick 3 points but failed to beat the Italian side.
After humiliating defending 9, Lyon Women in their 1-5 victory on Day 1, Arsenal Women were still a beauty to see against their visitors from Switzerland, Zurich Women.
With so much struggling from the start of the game, Arsenal Women were able to break the deadlock in the 38th minute from Nobbs’ volley to put the Gunners in front.
Hurtig doubled Arsenal’s Lead at the stroke of halftime to make it 2-0 in the first half. Piubel replied Arsenal Women in the 76th minute to make it 2-1 but Hurtig responded with Arsenal’s 3rd goal just 2 minute after to make it 3-1 on the night.
Arsenal Women have moved to the top of the Table after beating Zurich Women to garner 6 points as Juventus trail them on the 2nd spot only by 2 points following their lucky draw, made possible by malard.
