The trio is said to have escaped the incident with minor injuries despite the car’s body being completely sandwiched by a container from the trailer.
Details of the incident indicate the trailer was making a U-turn along the bypass, leading to the car behind driving under the trailer.
However, in what the residents describe as a miraculous encounter, the woman and the two children were drawn out of the mangled wreck without having sustained serious injuries.
It is reported that the woman was on her way home after picking up her children from school after a closing day ceremony.
Eyewitnesses reported that the victim was in a state of shock and was unable to speak following the incident.
Residents of the area have, however, decried that the U-turn located in the area is dangerous making it a hazard for motorists.
They are now appealing to have the U-turn blocked after today’s incident citing that despite the narrow escape of the woman and her children there could be future fatalities in the area.
“This U-turn you created is a total disaster, right now a trailer has landed on a car. The Uturn should be moved downward to the Funcity area or near Triple 0. Current is a four-way stop including a wrong-side drive,” stated one of the residents.
Following the incident, Kenyans online have continued to push for action from the government to reduce the number of road accidents.
Over the past week, more than 10 people lost their lives in accidents across the country.
On Monday night, students from Chavakali High School were involved in an accident, with one student dying in the incident.
