Interestingly, as one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Danjuma Goje was appointed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the Minister of State, Power, and Steel.
Senator Danjuma Goje was elected, twice, as the Executive Governor of Gombe State between 2003 and 2011.
In 2011, after the expiration of his tenure as the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje was reelected as Senator representing the good people of Gombe Central Senatorial District.
Senator Danjuma Goje, ahead of the 2015 general election, defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) and was reelected into he National Assembly, representing Gombe Central Senatorial District.
He was reelected into the Senate in 2019, under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC). He contested for President of the Senate, but stepped down for Senator Ahmed Lawal after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Daughter And Son-in-law in Positions of Authority
Dr Husaina Goje is a biological daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje. She was appointed as Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Forest Resources, under the administration of Governor Yahaya Inuwa.
It is important to recall that Governor Yahaya Inuwa was a Commissioner for Finance under the administration of Husaina’s father, Danjuma Goje, as the Executive Governor of Gombe State.
Due to the standing political rift between former Governor Danjuma Goje and Governor Yahaya Inuwa, it was learnt that Dr. Husaina Goje has, recently, resigned her position as Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Forest Resources in Gombe State.
Besides, Ibrahim Dasuki Jato Waziri is a son-in-law to Senator Danjuma Goje.
Jato is was appointed as Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under the administration of Governor Yahaya Inuwa, and he is still serving under the administration.
