What exactly did Ruto say? Speaking during a Town Hall event with Mombasa residents, the head of state asserted that he strongly believes in the constitution, which gives everyone the freedom to express themselves. He cited countries like Bangladesh, which have shut down the internet and media to prevent coverage of protests.
Ruto, however, stated that the situation in the country was entirely different, as the media was permitted to cover the protests without disruption and the internet remained accessible during that time. “Kenya is running full steam, and the internet is available everyday.
