A move to Newcastle would be ideal for the kid if he’s thinking about his future at all. I’m curious as to whether or not the top brass in Howe and the Magpies share my opinion.

“Mount is not just the kind of enthusiastic player who would fit the Geordies’ system well, but he is also an English Champions League winner who is in his prime, so he would be a significant signing and would send a major signal of purpose.”

The England international is having a roller coaster of a season at Chelsea, as his squad has struggled to maintain Premier League consistency. Mount has tallied three goals and six assists in 31 games for the Blues across all competitions this season.

In the Premier League, though, the gifted playmaker should be commended for his 1.4 tackles, 1.5 shoots, 1.4 vital passes, and 0.7 dribbles per game on average. His pass completion rate in the Premier League of English football was 80%, demonstrating that he took care of possession when passing to his teammates in the final third

Mount’s contract with Chelsea will expire in the summer of 2024, giving Newcastle a great opportunity to sign him at a bargain price at the end of the season.

Mount is a strong tackler and has the foresight to break through an opposing defense with a pinpoint pass. He has a strong, accurate long-range shot and can dribble the ball reasonably well.

This English star rarely gives the ball away for free and can help out in the attacking third by scoring and setting up goals. If needed, he can switch positions and play as a box-to-box midfielder or even a left winger.

Mount will bring goals and creativity to Newcastle’s frontline under head coach Eddie Howe, and he has the potential to develop a lethal attacking combo with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson in the years to come. Hence, next summer, the Magpies should make every effort to sign the English superstar for as little as possible.
