After bidding farewell to club icon Declan Rice who opted to move to Premier League title contenders for a British transfer record fee, the Hammers have found it difficult to recruit their chief summer transfer targets in order to acquire desperately needed depth as they are set to compete in the Europa League.
Mexican international midfielder Edson Álvarez was brought in for Ajax in a pretty credible bit of business, but the club has also seen Gianluca Scamacca, Nikola Vlasić, Arthur Masuaku, and Manuel Lanzini also depart the London Stadium.
West Ham has also seen advances for James Ward-Prowse, Conor Gallagher, Harry Maguire, and Scott McTominay rebuffed, with the conjoined bit for the latter two scratching more than a few heads.
But as of now, the club appears wholly unprepared for the upcoming campaign, with many predicting Moyes to possibly be the first manager officially axed after the season begins in earnest.

Thankfully for David Moyes, West Ham just about have a clean bill of health coming into the opening weekend clash, with the only possible question surrounding star midfielder Lucas Paquetá.
The Brazilian international is currently listed as a doubt, but it is expected that he will ultimately be fit for service come Saturday.
The bigger question, however, comes by way of his availability for selection at all in the wake of Manchester City’s attempts to bring him to the Etihad Stadium after having a near-£90m bid turned away by the Hammers.
If Paquetá is still in West Ham colors, then he should likely be in the XI, but City are currently expected to return for the Brazilian before the window closes, and could even make another bid before Saturday.
