In its 5-day forecast, the weather department listed five regions that would receive rains in both heavy and moderate amounts. 

Among the regions that are set to receive heavy rains include the Highlands East region, the West Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley region.

Counties in these regions include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi.

Others are Siaya, Kisumu, Homa bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru and Narok.

Counties of Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot will also receive heavy rains for the next five days.

In its weekly update, Kenya Met announced the rains would fall in the afternoon after sunny and cloudy intervals in the morning hours.

According to the weatherman, while the above regions were expected to receive rainfall, the rest of the country would remain generally dry.

The southeastern lowlands of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties were predicted to experience sunny conditions for the next five days.

Counties at the Coast are also expected to experience sunny conditions.

Meanwhile, the average daytime temperature was expected to hit36°C while night temperatures were predicted to drop up to 9°C.

“Strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are expected over some parts of the Coast and North-eastern Kenya,” Kenya Met announced….CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>
