The President said that he would not allow a section of Kenyans to take the country in the wrong direction.

Speaking in Bangale Tana River on Monday, Ruto said he will ensure the constitution and the law are protected.

“Ati kuna watu wengine wanafikiria kwamba watatufanyia maandamano ati Kenya isimame, nataka niwaambie, hatuwezi kuruhusu taifa letu lifanyiwe karata ya pata potea, watu wafanye maandamano, walete maafa, uaribifu wa mali, wachome manyumba ya serikali kwa sababu ya mambo ya kibinafsi,” he said.

(Some people think that they will demonstrate until Kenya stops, I want to tell them, that we will not allow our country to be gambled with. We will not allow people to take the country and demonstrate by killing people, destroying properties and burning down government buildings for their selfish gains).

The President said that he will not allow a few people to destroy the democracy and the country.

He further added that Kenya is a peace-loving nation that believes in the rule of law.

“We will never allow a few people to cause mayhem, anarchy, destroy properties, burn down government buildings and cause problems in the country,” Ruto said.

Ruto called on Kenyans to stand together and protect the democracy of the country.

He said the country is a democratic nation where Kenyans are the ones to determine their leaders.

“Uongozi wa Kenya hauamuliwi kwa fujo na kwa mtandao, maandamano au kwa vita. Uongozi unaamuliwa na Wakenya kupitia demokrasia ,” he said.

Kenyans across the country led by the young people popularly known as Gen Z took to the streets to demand accountability and good governance from the government.

The protests put the President under pressure leading to droping of the Finance Bill 2024 which had sparked the street protests.
