The lawmaker, who once deputised Speaker Kenneth Marende in the 10th parliament, angered the country after he allegedly told his wish to kill young Kenyans revolting against the government.

What action did Sarova take against Farah Maalim?

He is on record saying he would wipe out over Kenyan 5,000 Gen Zs were he in the position of the president.

In his unforeseen reaction, Sarova chief executive Jimi Kariuki said the chain of luxury hospitality facilities did not share in the lawmaker’s sentiments.

Kairuki was responding to a Kenyan’s concern about the lawmaker being accorded hospitality services at Sarova Whitesands despite his unbecoming conduct unexpected of a public servant.

Stating his position, the CEO was categorical that the business he leads is alive to the political status quo and was not going to abet impunity perpetrated by the members of the political class.

As such, the team at Sarova Whitesands ordered the lawmaker out of the Mombasa hotel.

“He is no longer a guest at our hotel. We asked him to leave the hotel earlier in the day. We do not in any way condone his inflammatory and threatening statements against Kenyans and will not associate our brand with such a person,” said Kariuki.

Reacting to the matter for the first time, Maalim said the viral video in which he is heard speaking in the Somali vernacular was a blatant fake.

How Farah Maalim defended himself

He said the clip was edited by his unknown detractors to paint him in bad light.

Maalim explained that the 5,000 he mentioned in the video was taken out of context, adding that he was talking about a book being launched.

He said his only issue with the anti-finance bill protesters was the threats to occupy protected areas such as the State House, which he equated to a coup.

The lawmaker snubbed the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC)’s summons to answer to the charges of spewing inciteful rhetoric.

The Wiper Party announced ejecting him and dewhipping him from parliament posts.
