But the mess most kids make during this period of their lives are much and most times very irritating. But it is not good for parents to make it a habit to flog their kids whenever they urinate at night.
There are other ways which you can help your child overcome this stage without Flogging.
1. Shifting their drinking time
Make it a priority that your kids take enough water during the day. Even if it is possible package some water in a water can for your kids when they are going to school, this is to help them take enough water during the day and less water during the evening hours.
This helps in preventing your kids from urinating at night as they will have less liquid in their body during the night.
2. Schedule bathroom breaks
Helps your kids to learn the habit of urinating at a two to three hours schedule before sleep. If it is possible, you can also wake them up at night and help them go for another bathroom break.
3. Be more encouraging and possible
If your child starts to make progress like stop urinating for one week or more, make it a custom to always congratulate them, this gives kids a sense of achievement and make them more committed.
4. Avoid thirst overload
Don’t make your kids starve for water even for our hours, this is because it could make them consume more water at night that may backfire when they sleep.
5. Never resort to punishment
No matter how frustrating it may be at the first time you start this procedure, don’t resort to punishment because most times it never works.
