Watford have lost five of their previous six league games and are now only two points above the relegation zone. Their most recent match was a 4-1 hammering against West Ham at home. Their most recent league victory came in a 4-1 victory over Manchester United.
Watford have gone 27 games without keeping a clean sheet in the Premier League, which is the second-longest streak in the league’s history. Their task is made even more difficult by their dismal record against Tottenham. In their last 17 meetings, they’ve only won once, a 2-1 home victory in 2018.
Tottenham had been having a good run of form until their last encounter, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Southampton played more than 50 minutes with ten players, so they will be dissatisfied with the result.
Tottenham are just a point outside the Europa League spots, but will be aiming for a place in the Champions League and are five points behind Arsenal in fourth place. They do hold a two-game advantage over the teams ahead of them.
Tottenham have gone undefeated in their previous seven league games, drawing two and winning five. Tottenham’s record at Vicarage Road is terrible, with only two wins in their last ten visits. In their last three visits, they have failed to win.
SUMMARY:
Tottenham appear to have rediscovered their goal-scoring form, and there should be plenty of goals against a side with one of the league’s worst defensive records. I think Watford will find it difficult to halt a Spurs team in form, so I’m going with Tottenham to win.
