No doubt that Xavi Fernandez and Barcelona FC fans would not be happy with the centre referee and Video Assistant Referee (VAR)’s decision not to award a penalty to the Spanish giant, which could help the club secure a win on Thursday night.

Sergei Roberto headed the ball which then hit Fred’s hand in the Manchester United box and ought to be awarded as a penalty but both the referee and Video Assistant Referee ignored the incident.

Had the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) checked the incident, Barcelona should have been awarded a penalty and could have secured a victory for Xavi Hernandez’s side.

No doubt, it was a wrong and unfair decision against Barcelona FC. The Spanish ought to wait for the result at Old Trafford come next week to know its fate if the club will progress or not.
