Peeing after intimacy may help in avoiding urinary tract infections.
Urinary tract infection happens when bacteria enter the urinary tract, normally through your urethra, and moves to your bladder.
If you have a female organ, the urethra releases urine.
If you have a male organ, your urethra exits both urine and male gamete though not at the same time.
Peeing after intercourse can help flush out bacteria that was introduced while having intercourse from your urethra. Although it isn’t a foolproof way to prevent intimacy-related urinary tract infections, it’s one fairly easy way to try.
Can This Lead To Pregnancy Prevention?
Peeing won’t in any way prevent pregnancy even if you go seconds after the male gamete is released into the female organ.
During intercourse, the male gamete is released into the female organ canal. Urine is released from the urethra. These are two entirely different openings. To put it differently, releasing pee from your urethra won’t flush anything out of the female organ.
If a male gamete has entered the female organ, there’s no going back. The male gamete is already moving upward to try and finish up with the process of egg fertilization.
