In this article, we shall be discussing the parts of chicken that should be discarded because they are not healthy for human consumption.

If you have been eating such portions in the past and perhaps nothing has happened to you, it is not an assurance that it is healthy because we cannot fully explain why we suffer some of the sicknesses we have suffered in the past.

The following portions in chicken are not healthy for human consumption.

1. Intestines.

The intestines of chicken are not healthy for human consumption. They may contain some arsenic compounds and toxins which the bird may have ingested.

Secondly some of these birds may have been given some medicines which requires that humans withdraw from the meat for some days after the administration of such drugs.

Unfortunately most poultry dealers do not follow these health guidelines, and the concentration of these medications are in the intestines.

2. Lungs and stomach.

The lungs and the stomach and even the first part of the gizzard are unhealthy for the same reason given above. The entire alimentary canal may contain toxins and some micro organisms that are not good for your health.

3. The Beak.

The beak of a bird is the hard part of the mouth with which it picks up food. It is ideally not suitable for consumption.

4. The anus.

Proper hygiene is key to good health. The anus of fowl is also part of the alimentary canal. It is unhealthy to eat it.

5. The feathers.

Though most humans find no pleasure in eating feathers, it is also important to include them in this list. These portions in chicken should be thrown away for the sake of our health.
