As many as 4 Chelsea players, including new signing Mykhailo Mudryk, will miss the round of 16 second-leg match against Borussia Dortmund if they get a yellow card in the first-leg that will be played at the Signal Iduna Park in less than two weeks.

This due the fact that all 4 players, each accumulated 2 yellow cards in the group stage of the competition, and there is a rule which states that a player will be suspended for the next game, in the competition, as soon as that player accumulates up to 3 yellow cards before the completion of the quarter-finals after which all accumulated yellow cards are wiped out.

Mudryk got his two yellow cards in first-leg matches against Leipzig and Real Madrid while playing for his former club Shakhtar Donetsk.

He will get suspended if he gets booked anytime before the end of the quarter-finals, as yellow cards are not wiped out after changing clubs or going down to the Europa League following the end of the group stage matches.

The other 3 Chelsea players that are at risk of getting suspended include Kalidou Koulibaly, Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher. Koulibaly got his two yellow cards in home and away matches against Dinamo Zagreb, Mason Mount got his in matches against AC Milan and Dinamo Zagreb, while for Gallagher it was in matches against AC Milan and FC Salzburg.
