Real Madrid started the UEFA Champions League with a win as they defeated Celtic 3-0 at the Celtic Park on Tuesday evening. Goals from Vinicus Junior, Luka Modric and Eden Hazard gave the Los Blancos the deserved win over the Scottish side.

After the game, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti reacted to his team’s victory and also speaks on Hazard’s performance against the Scottish champions.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti tells BT Sport: “It was like two games, first half we suffered a bit with intensity, second half we had control.

“We were not surprised [with Celtic’s start]. We knew they could start really fast. We were lucky because they hit the post.

“Second half, was much better. When we opened to scoring it was easier for us to control the ball.”
