I think Messi still needs to break two more records to be regarded as the greatest player ever because Cristiano Ronaldo now leads the Champions League in assists and, despite not participating in the Champions League this year, leads the league in goals scored.
In my opinion, and to clear any doubts some fans might have, Lionel Messi must break the Champions League record for goals scored and assists in order to become the greatest of all time.
