1. Daniel Anyiam

He is one of the most respected personalities in the history of Nigerian football. This is because of the fact that he was the vice-captain of the first ever Nigerian national team. There is a statue that was built in honour of the numerous achievements of Daniel Anyiam. This statue is located at a football stadium in Owerri. This stadium is known as the Dan Anyiam Stadium. 2. Samuel Okwaraji

Okwaraji was one of the most talented players in Nigeria. He represented the Nigerian national team on eight occasions before he passed on. It is important to note that Samuel Okwaraji passed on during a FIFA World Cup qualification match between Nigeria and Angola in 1989. There is a statue of Samuel Okwaraji at the gate of the National Stadium, Lagos.
