While this seems to be among the common problems we face in society today, although these appointees are qualified for their respective positions, here are two governors that recently appointed their family members into government offices based on their respective qualifications.
#1: Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.
Not too long ago the governor swore in his son, Babajide Akeredolu as the Adviser and Director General of Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit in the state.
The governor while charging his appointees on the need to position themselves well in the new offices they found themselves in noted that the office of his son has been charged with series of mandates, which includes designing and implementing projects in Ondo, adding that it would help to recalibrate the development agenda of his government, hence the crucial need for his appointment.
#2: Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state.
The governor recently appointed his wife, Patience Diri among the new Chief Judges in the Bayelsa state High court according to a publication obtained from Sahara Reporters.
Diri while charging his appointees on the need to serve the people of Bayelsa with unfailing zeal, urged them to ensure that their actions and decisions were in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and the state’s laws too.
