Scott McTominay looked a promising young talent when he first broke into the Man Utd senior side, having come up through their famous academy.

However in more recent times, it looks like the 25 year old Scotland international doesn’t quite have what it takes to start for a big club like United on a regular basis, and it seems his future is now in some doubt.

New signings are needed for Erik ten Hag since his team performed miserably in both their defeats in the Premier League.

United’s defensive midfielders were heavily criticized in their recent defeats against Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford. Fred and McTominay were unable to manage the tempo of the game and protect their centre-backs against the Seagulls.

Similarly, Christian Eriksen was made to play deep against the Bees and he could not cope with the hard press of the opposition attackers.

According to the reports, five Premier League clubs are interested in Scott McTominay. Newcastle United, Everton, West Ham United, Leicester City and Southampton are all interested in the 25-year-old midfielder.

However, the Red Devils have not said that he is available to depart while the player also has not submitted any transfer request. But that has not stopped rival clubs from registering their interest in the 25-year-old.

McTominay is likely to leave on loan if he does decide to leave. With just a few days left till the market closes, it could be difficult for United to make a long-term decision on him.
