New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to begin overhauling his squad and is ready to axe 15 players, according to the Daily Mail. The Blues are hoping to raise around £280m in player sales as Pochettino trims a bloated squad.

Players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi are all expected to leave and could be joined by Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante.

Man Utd ready to sign Costa for €75m

Manchester United are prepared to activate the release clause in the contract of Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa this summer, according to Portuguese publication A Bola.

A Bola claim that Costa could be on his way to Old Trafford during the upcoming transfer window. The 23-year-old has reportedly played his final game for Porto.

He is ‘expected’ to move to the Premier League with United ready to pay his €75m buy-out clause. The Portuguese international is viewed as a possible long-term successor to David de Gea whose future at the club remains uncertain.

Kane to stay at Spurs if Man Utd deal falls through

Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham for a final season if he cannot get a move to Manchester United, according to The Sun. The England captain has no intention of going abroad while he is just 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League record tally of 260.

Tottenham are more open to selling Kane to a foreign club than a top-flight rival, with Bayern Munich huge admirers of the striker. But that does not interest Kane, who rattled in another 30 top-flight goals this season and has a year left on his contract.

United are the only viable English option this summer with Kane, who has been at Spurs since age 11, not willing to risk his reputation with the fans by moving to arch-rivals Chelsea or Arsenal. Newcastle are not in a position to spend north of £100m on one player, despite their Saudi riches.
