The Premier League champions have held positive talks with the midfielder’s agents and Chelsea are open to selling him.
Kane to stay at Spurs if Man Utd deal falls through
Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham for a final season if he cannot get a move to Manchester United, according to The Sun.
The England captain has no intention of going abroad while he is just 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League record tally of 260.
Tottenham are more open to selling Kane to a foreign club than a top-flight rival, with Bayern Munich huge admirers of the striker.
But that does not interest Kane, who rattled in another 30 top-flight goals this season and has a year left on his contract.
United are the only viable English option this summer with Kane, who has been at Spurs since age 11, not willing to risk his reputation with the fans by moving to arch-rivals Chelsea or Arsenal.
Newcastle are not in a position to spend north of £100m on one player, despite their Saudi riches.
Harry Maguire to hold Erik ten Hag talks
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire will reportedly hold talks with manager Erik ten Hag regarding his future at the club this summer having fallen out of favour this season.
According to ESPN, Maguire will speak with his manager with the England man expected to evaluate his options before making a decision regarding his long-term career at the club.
Sources have claimed that United will listen to bids for the defender, with West Ham mooted as being a potential destination for the 29-year-old.
Fred unhappy with Man Utd game time
Manchester United midfielder Fred has shown his disapproval about the amount of minutes he has had for the club this season.
The Brazilian has started just two Premier League games since the March international break, and one of them was for the final day dead rubber at home to Fulham.
Fred has been linked with a summer move to Fulham this summer, and the midfielder was hoping for more game time under Erik ten Hag.
“In terms of my own performance, I believe I’ve played well, although I wish I’d had more minutes on the pitch,” Fred told FourFourTwo.
“Whenever I was on the field, I think I delivered what was expected from me to help the team succeed.
Enrique keen on Premier League after Napoli snub
Luis Enrique appears set on joining a Premier League club this summer after turning down the chance to take over at Napoli.
The Serie A champions are on the search for a new boss with current manager Luciano Spalletti set to leave after this weekend. Spalletti has led Napoli to their first Scudetto since 1990 this season but is expected to depart the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is now lining up potential replacements, with Enrique’s name having been discussed. But the former Barcelona boss appears to have made it clear that he is targeting a move to a Premier League club instead.
