Cristiano Ronaldo is set to reject a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia as he still wants to turn out on a Champions League stage in Europe, claims ESPN.
The Portuguese superstar has been looking for a way out of Manchester United, with a contract worth a reported €275 million (£233m/$276m) said to have been put to him by a club in the Middle East.

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed West Ham have made a bid of €40m plus add-ons for striker Gianluca Scamacca. PSG have also made a bid of €35m plus add-ons. West Ham are awaiting a response from the Italian club, who are thought to value the player at €50m.

Former Tottenham and Southampton centre-back Toby Alderweireld has signed for Royal Antwerp. The 33-year-old returns to his native Belgium from Al Duhail in Qatar, signing a three-year-deal.

Burnley have signed Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old has had loan spells at Charlton and Coventry and now the Dutchman will link up with Vincent Kompany at Turf Moor.
