Manchester United closing in on £45million deal for Matheus Cunha

There are just over two weeks to go until the summer transfer window slams shut with both Manchester United and Chelsea particularly involved in the latest drama.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag may finally be closing in on a new attacker after giving chase for weeks, while the Blues are eyeing up two more deals to add to their collection.

United are reportedly closing in on a left-field deal to sign Matheus Cunha for £45million. Man Utd had initially moved for Antony but have been searching for alternatives after being priced out of a move by Ajax.

The Red Devils are excessively light in the attacking department and it seems that Ten Hag could soon be afforded another body to choose from if the news currently emerging is anything to go by.

There are reports that United are close to signing the 23-year-old Brazilian. Cunha would represent just the fourth signing of the Ten Hag era in what many fans consider a failed and frustrating summer transfer window.

As per the reports United are set to part with £45millon for Cunha’s services as he makes a switch from Spain to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle, West Ham and Liverpool could still do some late business with reinforcements being eyed.

Manchester United interested in signing Casemiro

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.

According to recent reports, the complexity surrounding the Frenkie de Jong deal has prompted United to look for alternatives, one of which is Casemiro.

The report claims that United’s emissaries are in fact in Madrid looking at different options. Erik ten Hag is keen on reinforcing his midfield and Casemiro could be an outside option no one saw coming.

Despite being 30, the Brazilian is arguably one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

He along with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos formed the crux of the Madrid team that went on to win five Champions Leagues.

Manchester United have spent all of this summer trying to convince Frenkie de Jong to join the club but thus far, their attempts have been unsuccessful and he is likelier to join Chelsea, who can offer Champions League football.

Alternatives to De Jong have, however, been identified and Adrien Rabiot is closing in on a move to Old Trafford, becoming Ten Hag’s fourth signing of the summer. Now, another midfielder is being linked with a transfer.

According to the reports, United have set their sights on Real Madrid star Casemiro.
