Chelsea have “immediately rejected” Manchester United’s opening bid for midfielder Mason Mount. The offer is thought to be worth £40m.
Privately, United know what they are prepared to pay and it’s understood there is a big gap in valuations. United are looking at a number of other players and would be prepared to walk away from any deal.
Mount has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and there is a growing feeling he wants to make the move.

Richarlison: It would be a dream to play for Real Madrid
Tottenham forward Richarlison says it would be a “dream” to one day be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid – but underlined his commitment to Spurs.
Brazil are set to play Guinea in an international friendly this Saturday at Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium in Barcelona. With a room with several Spanish journalists, it was natural to ask Richarlison whether he would consider join Real Madrid.
Not only he revealed it would be “a dream” for him, but he didn’t rule out there had been contact from Madrid when he was asked. He said he “still has to deliver at Tottenham”, but added that his friendship with the Italian Ancelotti “would last forever”.
Richarlison said: “Of course every player would like to wear the Real Madrid jersey, the biggest club in the world. But I have a club, a contract. I also have to show why they have paid a big sum.
“It was a bad season for me, also due to the injuries that I had at Tottenham. But it’s a dream, a dream of every player to wear Real Madrid’s jersey. But I still have to deliver wearing Tottenham’s jersey.
“As everybody knows, (Carlo) Ancelotti coached me at Everton. And we chat a lot. The other day, I called him and he was together with Vinicius Jr. and (Eder) Militao. But there’s nothing going on, just friendship. We became very good friends at Everton where I could help him. This friendship will last forever.“READMORE
