Ajax Reject United’s Bid For Antony...CONTINUE READING

Manchester United’s €90 million bid for Antony has reportedly been turned down by Ajax. Mike Verweij claims that the Red Devils submitted a revised offer on Friday afternoon, but it was turned down.

“Manchester United have placed a €90M bid for Antony. It’s not certain whether this include bonuses. From within the Johan Cruyff Arena the sounds are still not for sale.”

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news when he tweeted: “Manchester United new bid has been rejected by Ajax earlier today.

€90m is considered not enough, that’s why Antony is disappointed with Ajax – he only wants United.” He earlier also mentioned how Ajax were making it really difficult for United.

To corroborate what Romano said, Ajax head coach, Alfred Schreuder has said the club would do everything within their power to stop Antony from joining Manchester United.

The winger is extremely explicit in his desire to leave the Dutch champions, according to the boss, but he insisted it will not happen.

The Brazilian is reportedly pressing hard for a switch to Old Trafford and has submitted a transfer request. He occasionally skipped training, and Manchester United is anxious to sign him before the transfer window closes. Antony worked with Erik Ten Hag during United manager’s time with Eredivisie champions.

The latest sign that Antony wants to transfer to Old Trafford was his exclusion from the Ajax squad for last Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Sparta Rotterdam. However, the Eredivisie winners have resisted United’s increased offer.

The two clubs have a good relationship, and it is just about the Dutch club wanting to keep their star man. Ajax is hesitant to sell because they haven’t yet found a suitable successor for the Brazilian. The Antony transaction will be decided in the following several days.

Even if they turned down the most recent offer, the two teams are still in communication before the transfer deadline on September 1.

Although Manchester United are increasingly set to sign Brazilian forward Antony from Ajax in the last week of the transfer season after reaching a personal agreement with him. Fabrizio Romano claims that ten days ago, the Red Devils and Antony’s representatives reached a five-year agreement.

But if they are unsuccessful in landing their top offensive target, a backup has already been found. According to ESPN, Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach is also on United’s radar, and the club is prepared to step up their interest if required.

The 25-year-old, who is the son of renowned French defender Lilian Thuram, only had three goals and one assist in 23 appearances the previous season, but he has already surpassed those totals this year with five goals and two assists in only four games.

Thuram joined Gladbach in 2019 after leaving French club Guingamp, and since then, he has developed into one of the Bundesliga’s most reliable forwards.

The former Guingamp player has played in 106 games for Gladbach, with an average of one goal involvement per contest for the Stadion am Borussia-Park team.

This summer, Manchester United faces a challenging issue in terms of their attacking players. Due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s attitude and behavior following the club’s loss to Brentford this past weekend, the management is allegedly open to allowing the Portugal captain leave.
