The goalkeeper was available for around £4.3–£8.6 million in the summer of 2022. However, the Red Devils signed Martin Dubravka on loan from Newcastle United instead on deadline day.

But the Slovakia international has hardly featured for the Old Trafford side. The 33-year-old has only played one game for Erik ten Hag’s team, in the 4-2 win against Aston Villa in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

United, alongside two other clubs in the Premier League, could have brought Livakovic to England. Nottingham Forest and Leicester City were the other sides associated with the 27-year-old’s signature.

The Foxes lost Kasper Schmeichel in the recent transfer window. However, they have decided to put faith in Wales international Danny Ward. On the other hand, the Tricky Trees signed Dean Henderson on loan from Man United.

Livakovic joined Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2016 from NK Zagreb. Since then, the 27-year-old has been a regular first-team member of the Croatian outfit.

The shot-stopper has caught a lot of people’s eyes with his performances at the 2022 World Cup. Zlatko Dalic’s team have made it to the semi-finals in Qatar and the goalkeeper has been pivotal for the Vatreni.

Currently, David de Gea is the number one at United. The Spaniard has been impressive for the Red Devils since last season. However, with Dubravka and Tom Heaton, all of Ten Hag’s first-team options are in their 30s.
