The Cityzens won the Champions League after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final. Before that, they had won the English Premier League title for the third season in a row and had also beaten Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup.

According to the current UEFA Club Ranking, German Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich is the second-best football club in Europe at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The Bavarians won the German Bundesliga title after beating Borussia Dortmund to it on goal difference on the last day of the season.

Surprisingly, Chelsea is ranked third on the list. The English Premier League side endured a very abysmal season in which they finished in the bottom half of the league table.

However, their performance in European competitions in the past five seasons is the reason why they are ranked high on the list.

The fourth-best football club in Europe after the end of the 2022/23 season is Liverpool. The Merseyside club finished outside of the English Premier League top four for the first time in more than five years after missing out on Champions League qualification to Manchester United and Newcastle United.

However, they got to the final of the Champions League in the 2021/22 season and were eliminated by Real Madrid last season.
