He took to Twitter to state that the player and his agents are set to sign off the deal today, seeing him leave Stamford Bridge.

News emerged last week that the wealthy Saudi Pro League were looking to make Kante their latest addition to what is a growing cast of gleaming stars.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have already made their moves out there, and a host of other names are now being linked with moves.

Chelsea players are not escaping attention as well as Kante, with today rumours suggesting that they want to add Romelu Lukaku to their growing list of names.

The Belgian is reportedly interested in the move, however will likely ask for more salary than has been offered to him so far.

Kante to leave in next 24 hours

Kante’s contract is set to expire in just a few weeks’ time, and even though things had seemed to come to a halt regarding his departure, Romano has now claimed that things are set to be completed within the next 24 hours.

He said: “Understand Al Ittihad are finally confident to get N’Golo Kanté deal signed within the next 24 hours.

“Agreement reached last week, first part of medical done but still waiting on player/agents signature. Deal set to be sealed with final round of talks today.”

The Blues will now need to up their efforts in bringing in at least one midfielder this summer, especially after missing out on a deal to sign Manuel Ugarte to PSG.

It has been reported that the club are going to step up their efforts to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton, at the request of Mauricio Pochettino.
