This comes in response to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of the immediate suspension and investigation of Ms. Halima Shehu, accused of financial wrongdoing, as the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA).

Speaking in an interview with the African Independence Television (AIT) News, Chuks Akunna also noted that the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) remained silent on the issue of the ousted NSIPA CEO’s alleged financial mismanagement, with no discernible response.

According to him: “The interesting thing is that this N44B was allegedly stolen in four days, about ten billion everyday, you know from 27 of December, 31st, 44 billion. And then you know, it also comes to question the role of Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, because this is a statutory body invested with the responsible of tracking suspicious movement of cash.
