Cristiano Ronaldo may leave Manchester United this summer....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

It’s been more than three weeks since Ronaldo made his desire to quit United, only a year after his return to Old Trafford, and the atmosphere surrounding the club has sunk.

A fantastic pre-season tour filled with entertaining football as Erik ten Hag’s techniques take hold has started to dispel the clouds.

Thailand and Australia have provided a peek of a potential future without Ronaldo, with three wins and a tie, but more significantly commanding displays full of exquisite passing, rapid counterattacks, and coordinated passing.

Despite the fact that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has made his availability known, there have been no suitors to lure him away from Manchester

1. Martial

Anthony Martial is evident. After a terrible season in which he asked to leave and then stank it up on loan at Sevilla, the Frenchman’s days at United appeared numbered at the start of the summer.

Martial led the line without Ronaldo. He may not have earned another opportunity, but he took it. In four games, he scored three goals and was constantly in the action, playing significant parts in goals, holding the ball up, flicking it on, connecting midfield and attack, and attempting bold tricks. Nearly everything he did paid off.

2. Sancho

Jadon Sancho seemed ready to attack the Premier League when United eventually signed him last summer. As the club’s star acquisition, he’d alter Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s offence.

On deadline day, Ronaldo eclipsed Sancho. United’s attack had to be rejigged to suit Ronaldo, and Sancho was transferred to his less-favoured left side. Already learning a new league and without tactical attacking, he struggled. He flashed sometimes.

3. Fernandes

When a greater talisman comes, what happens? Bruno Fernandes, exactly. United’s 18-month run under Fernandes began in January 2020. He became the team’s focal point and the one his teammates looked to.

Since Ronaldo arrived, he has deteriorated, with his goal contributions reduced. Fernandes may be sad to see his colleague go, but becoming the star again might help him.
