Juventus has been contacted by Chelsea to find out how much they are willing to pay for the Dutchman’s transfer this summer, according to Football London. Having guided Ajax to a Champions League semi-final appearance in 2019, Juventus paid £68 million for the 22-year- old services.

Even though he hasn’t lived up to the lofty expectations placed on him, the Netherlands international continues to garner accolades from the media and his peers.

As a 22-year-old, he has more than a decade of supremacy ahead of him, according to his national teammate Virgil van Dijk.

Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of De Ligt because of his versatility and ball-handling skills.

There was also speculations that the Blues have spoken to Juventus about a possible transfer fee for the Dutchman, inquiring as to a required amount for the trade to go through.

There is no doubt that the New York City Blues have been keeping tabs on defenders, with Jules Kounde being the most prominent name to come to mind. As a result of these allegations, Chelsea may be forced to make a play for De Ligt instead of the Frenchman.

Barcelona may be prepared to scuttle the deal for the Frenchman, leading the Blues to consider signing De Ligt in its place, according to sources.

The recent news that Chelsea and the former Ajax player have actually been in contact may excite some at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s interest in the former Ajax player has been widely reported in recent days. Tuchel’s team appeared to be keeping a close eye on him.

Although it is unknown at this time whether Juventus offered a price that Chelsea approved of, given the recent volume of stories, it wouldn’t be shocking to see a bid come in.

Even if it’s merely for Kounde’s off-the-field reputation, the Blues will continue to press for the trade to be completed because they are in desperate need of a center-back this summer.

De Ligt’s contract is about to expire, therefore if he continues with Juventus this summer, the club should announce their plans as soon as possible for the upcoming opportunity. The Dutchman, who flawlessly emulates Thiago Silva, has the ability to anchor a defense for a decade.
