Briggs highlighted that key figures, including lawmakers who had previously defected from the PDP, the speaker who walked out, and the disputed chairman of the APC, were present in the meeting.

She stressed that the meeting’s composition raised questions, especially since the issue at hand was considered an internal PDP matter, making the involvement of APC figures surprising. The activist conveyed a strong message that no one should underestimate the importance of Rivers State and its people.

She emphasised that the state’s contribution to peace and its economic significance should not be taken lightly, urging a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamics at play in the region.

According to him, “The issue is that today we have a situation where yesterday night, the governor of Rivers State, we feel, was cornered into a meeting with very few people on his side and the majority…the whole lawmakers that walked out on PDP were in that meeting.

The speaker who walked out was in that meeting. Even the disputed chairman of the APC was in that meeting.
