My niece would always ask for what she thinks you can give not what you have the capacity to give. I had a conversation with her some years back about why she was in the habit of asking for small things, and her response was being afraid her request might be turned down.

I told her there was absolutely nothing wrong with the word ‘No’, as it was very unlikely to get a “Yes” every time, which is the reality of life. I encouraged her to be bold enough to ask for whatever it was she wanted, a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in the end would be worth it, as you either get the request granted or find some other means to get it.

Here are ways to tackle self doubt;

1. Talk to Someone About it.

2. Don’t compare anyone’s achievement with yours.

3. Get skills that will boost your confidence

4. Surroud yourself with positive people.

5. If and When you fail, learn your lesson and get back at it.

6. Reward yourself when you win.

7. Be open to adjusting.

8. Take a break and nuture yourself

9. Keep a gratitude journal.

10. Start with short term goals.
