The 33 year old Nigerian international and former Manchester United forward retained his spot in his team’s starting XI line-up having been a key figure in the squad since his arrival at the club in the January winter transfer window, and he was able to deliver at the peak by posing to be a big threat in the opposition box.
Odion Ighalo scored a crucial goal for his team which was enough to get his side levelled in the whole 90 minutes duration of the game which ended one all draw before it was finally decided via penalty.
The Nigerian star also scored a decisive penalty during the shoot-out which gave his side the inspiration with some more good fighting spirit and as such earned them their first trophy of the season.
Odion Ighalo opened the scoring sheet by giving his side the lead in the 18th minute to make it one nil before Zamalek got levelled with an equalizer from Zizo in the 33rd minute to make it one all draw going into the half time break.
The tempo of the game got more tensed up in the second half as they both put up some more physical, tactical and technical displays but none was able to found the back of the net with all attempts from both ends to add more to the tally of the night proving abortive as it ended 1-1 at full time.
As such, the game was extended into the extra time where Al-Hilal emerged the winner after penalty shoot-out which ended four goals to one.
