Over 100 hundred people were killed on Christmas eve attacks on three local government areas of Plateau state, and similar figure lost their lives in a Nigerian Air Force error-bombing in Kaduna.

The revered leader spoke in Bauchi on Wednesday, at the closing ceremony of the 80TH National Islamic Vocation Course organised by the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Zone Headquarters.

“Just couple of weeks back there was this clash in Plateau where over 100 plus lives were lost,” he stated.

“Why do we keep on having these clashes?

“Why do we keep having these deaths caused by ourselves?

“Couple of weeks back the Tudun Biri issue is still fresh with us now the ones in Plateau”.

He urged Muslims in this country to close ranks saying there is “serious issues of insecurity”.

According to him, “We always condemn such killings but after condemning such activities by bandits and criminals, what next?

“What are the role of the government who are supposed to protect our lives and properties?

“Why can’t we be proactive to stop such attacks before they happened to us?

“What happened to our intelligence gathering mechanism?

“You cannot tell me that nobody knew such attacks were coming on.

“Have we lost our sense of gathering information to avert any of such heinous crimes?”.

The Sultan urged Nigerians to demand of the government to up the fight against insecurity lamenting that bandits were always a step ahead.

“For some of us who were opportune to serve in the military we know the activities of the security agencies so we keep on asking questions of what really is happening,” he stated.

“Things are politicised and that is the wrong way to go when you politicized insecurity.

“We are all in one big country where we have poverty, yes Muslims, Christians and even people who do not have religion go to the same market, buy the same foodstuff, enter the same vehicle and pay the same fare.

“It is not issue of religion. Let us tell ourselves that it is not anybody planned something against Muslim or Christians, No.

“It is an issue of leadership.
“Let’s have confidence in the leadership that yes within the next few months, years something will change.

“Let’s keep on having hope because the moment you lose hope you are finished.
We must call on our leaders to rise up to the occasion.

“Things are not right and when things are not right anything can happen. But as Muslims we believe in almighty Allah who does what he wants to do when he wants to do so.

“Let’s continue with our prayer. As we pray we put pressure on our leaders to do the right thing.

“Let us not leave our leaders with their own problems and faults, we must all take this leadership as one opportunity for all of us to be good to one another.
“The challenges are there, there are serious problems, and we must face the challenges until it is behind us.

“Let us redouble our efforts and let our leader fear God who is going to ask us what we did with your leadership. Let us wake up.
