1. The blue light from your phone is hurting your eyes

To mimic daylight, your phone emits blue light at night which not only harms your eyes but also your brain. This blue light alters your internal body clock and rhythm hence can cause insomnia(sleeplessness) and irritability, tiredness during the day

2. Your mind is psychologically engaged

Staring at your phone at night alters the normal relaxing and peaceful experience you should have before falling asleep. Instead, your mind remains active and engaged even after minutes of scrolling down your phone. This can make it difficult to fall asleep and also negatively affect your brain.

3. It delays your sleep

The alerts or notifications you get from your phone delay your sleep time. Seeing something interesting or something that makes you happy can trigger a response that delays falling asleep. You can find yourself staring at the ceiling for hours before falling asleep.
