The Saints currently sit at eleventh on the table with three four points from three matches. Their only victory of the season came last week when they beat Leicester City by two goals to one at the King Power Stadium.

Ralph Hassenhuttl and his men will be hoping to consolidate on that win when they play Manchester United tomorrow.

Manchester United like the Saints also got their first win of the season at the expense of Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday, after losing their first two matches in the league for the first time since 1922.

The win saw the Red Devils move up from nineteenth to fourteenth on the table with just three points.

Monday’s victory comes as a morale booster to the Red Devils as they travel to the St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.

The last nine matches between the two clubs saw Manchester United won three of those encounters, including a 9-0 thrashing of Southampton in 2021, with the remaining matches being draws.
