Speaking on the phone with our correspondent on the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court, Dalung commended the Supreme Court for quick intervention in salvaging Nigeria’s democracy.

Solomon applauded the Supreme Court in the judgment of Zamfara, Kano, Lagos, Ebonyi, Bauchi, and Plateau States as indeed remarkable.

Dalung also congratulated Mutfwang for emerging victorious in the judgment, indeed the Supreme Court has opened a new chapter in the legal jurisprudence as it has set an agenda for immediate reform within the legal framework.

When asked whether, those who suffered from the appeal and Elections Tribunal, Dalung says, the victims of that judgment can approach the court of appeal for the review of the judgment, he described the appeal Court in the instance as front Officio.

He said the Supreme Court lacks jurisdiction to reverse the judgment, so the only option opened now for the Peoples Democratic Party whose members suffered from the appeal court coup is to push forward for their mandate by approaching a Court file process.

According to him, that is the only weapon available to the party, but anything outside this would be promoting anarchy because even though what the appeal Court did contravenes our democracy, the Supreme Court has just saved democracy from total abuse.

He said this is because if the judgment had gone the other way round, anarchy would have taken over the nation of ours, and we would have not been able to predict where we would be today.

He advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to try its judicial luck in the open court on the issue of the party over the State and Federal Lawmakers whose mandates were snatched away from them over a flimsy legal technicality that they were not properly nominated, sponsored by the party whom could not conduct Congresses to elect Exco’s to pilot the affairs of the party in the state…CONTINUE READING>>
