Over the years, we have witnessed a number of top tacticians lose their cool with one another on the touchline for one reason or the other. While some got away with just a warning, others were given red cards by the referee.

Football is at its best when it’s passionate and the following coaches certainly knew how to show their passion.

1- Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel (14th August 2022)

It was an afternoon of red cards, blue on blue attacks, a 96th minute equaliser, high energy football and a wonderful high octane chaos as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs played out a 2-2 draw in an entertaining London Derby.

Controversy began between Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and Spur’s manager Antonio Conte after Pierre Hojbjerg brought Tottenham back on level terms in the 68th minute, a goal the home side felt shouldn’t have stood given that there was a foul on a Chelsea player Kai Havertz in the build-up.

Reece James restored Chelsea’s lead 9 minutes later, before Harry Kane rescued a point for the away side in what was the last meaningful act of the game.

Chelsea were once more aggrieved by a foul that should have negated Tottenham’s threat and that led to another clash when Tuchel and Conte shook hands, one that resulted in a red card for both managers.

2- Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp (20th November, 2021)

Tempers boiled over between Arteta and Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool’s 4-0 Premier league thrashing over Arsenal following Sadio Mane’s aerial challenge on Takehiro Tomiyasu in the first half.

The Arsenal boss claimed that the Senegalese had caught his player with an elbow, but Jurgen Klopp didn’t agree with him. As both managers barked angrily at each other, officials had to separate the duo before the referee gave them a yellow card.

3- Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho (5th October 2014)

The differences between Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and current Roma boss Jose Mourinho was one of the biggest managerial feud in the last decade.

However, on October 5th 2014, both managers were seen pushing each other as Chelsea defeated Arsenal 2-0 in a Premier league game at Stamford Bridge.

Emotions seems to have flared up when Chelsea defender Gary Cahill brought down Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez in a dangerous tackle and the opposite managers had to be split up by officials.
