However, the last summer and January transfer windows have seen some of their acquisitions suffer a decline in market value.
1. Wesley Fofana:
Wesley Fofana, signed from Leicester City for £80.4 million, was expected to bolster Chelsea’s defensive line. Unfortunately, a series of injuries hampered his playing time, limiting his impact on the field.
Consequently, Fofana’s market value has dropped to £55 million. The lack of consistent appearances and performances due to injuries have contributed to this decline.
2. Mudryk:
In a bidding war against Arsenal, Chelsea secured the services of Mudryk by offering a more attractive deal. However, since his arrival, the player has struggled to find his form and settle into the team. As a result, Mudryk’s market value has decreased to £50 million, a significant drop compared to the £70 million Chelsea paid for him.
3. Kalidou Koulibaly:
AFCON Winner, Kalidou Koulibaly experienced inconsistencies in his performances on the pitch for Chelsea. These inconsistencies, coupled with a decline in his overall form, have led to a significant drop in his market value. Once valued at a substantial amount, Koulibaly’s current market value stands at £15 million.
4. Marc Cucurella:
Chelsea’s acquisition of Marc Cucurella was met with high expectations, as the club paid £65 million to secure his services. However, Cucurella has failed to live up to those expectations, and his performances have been underwhelming.
Consequently, his market value has decreased to £35 million, highlighting the disappointment surrounding his performances on the pitch.
5. Raheem Sterling:
Former Manchester City winger, Raheem Sterling has experienced a downturn in form since his arrival.
The decline in his performances has affected his market value, which currently stands at £55 million. His poor form and lack of consistency have been the primary factors contributing to his decreased value.
6. Enzo Fernandez:
Enzo Fernandez’s market also dropped to £80 million despite his impressive performances for the West Londoners.
