Mr Sanwo-Olu approved the state’s white paper containing the panel’s recommendations, which were submitted earlier this month. The Lagos governor had previously delivered an address in which he stated that he would not allow lies to thrive in the aftermath of the tragedy that triggered a nationwide outrage last year.

He invited numerous activists and social critics to join him in a march through the nation’s business centre, but the invitees quickly declined. The government’s stance could rekindle the debate surrounding the Lekki shooting, for which numerous Nigerians have continued to seek justice and accountability from both Lagos and the federal government.

Sanwo-Olu isn’t the first to debunk the report presented by the EndSARS panel. Lai Mohammed also stated that there were discrepancies in the report. The white paper claim presented by Sanwo-Olu is making some Nigerians question their sanity. The conflicting report regarding the Lekki toll gate incidents is creating debates and mixed reactions.

A white paper is a well-researched report on a specific issue that provides a solution to an industrial problem. It is typically written by a firm to demonstrate their knowledge and experience using facts and evidence; nevertheless, it should not be used to advertise or support a company’s product.

However, some Nigerians believe that the only way the report the Lekki toll gate incident is for the governor to step aside. It’s often said that nobody is allowed to be a judge in his cause because his interest would certainly bias his judgment, and, not improbably, corrupt his integrity. But there are still cases where people out of integrity remained incorruptible and judged their case with fairness. So it’s a two-way thing, it all depends on his kind of person.
