Samuel Eto’o who retired from international football as one of the legend of the game ran for the office of the football association amidst fanfare from the world football fans and officials all over the world.

In a major twist that not only shocked Cameroonians but the world, Eto’o changed the constitution of the football body. The new law will see his tenure extended from four years to 7 years.

Furthermore, Samuel Eto’o will be eligible to run three times, which means that he could retain his seat for 21 years, if nobody wins him during the electioneering period.

Samuel Eto’o is one of the most respected African players of all time, some even consider him as the African football GOAT. Eto’o played in Spain, England, Italy and other European countries.

He retired as one of the few players to win the gong of the African footballer of the year more than twice.
