Sakaja had to quickly respond to the DP’s message during his(Gachagua) Nairobi rally tour held today Friday, saying the DP has been attacking him anytime he tours the CBD what has to now stop.

To keep law and order within the city, Sakaja noted that a robust plan to position traders in designated zones was necessary and will go on as planned.

“As elected leaders, we have a responsibility to our people to protect and provide them with opportunities to make something out of themselves. Just over a year ago, in June 2023, 52 traders, selling goods on a road reserve, were killed in Londiani, Kericho County, when a truck driver lost control and ploughed into them.

“Thirty of them sustained life-changing injuries. These people cannot come back to life. I have a duty and mandate that will not let me fall for populist political gimmicks at the expense of the lives and safety of Nairobians,” he responded following Gachagua’s outburst.

Terming the DP’s vernacular slur as misinformation meant to reignite tribal animosity, the Nairobi County boss, Mr. Sakaja, warned that such political incitement and direction was dangerous, especially, at an area like Nairobi where all the tribes meet to work and live.

“While speaking in vernacular in the heart of our nation’s capital, you have chosen to use falsehoods to incite traders against the measures we are taking”.

Reminding the DP that he was only a phone call away, the governor, for the second time, advised the DP to fight his political wars in the best way rather than dragging peaceful Nairobi residents into it.

Sakaja made this long statement after Mr. Gachagua cautioned Kikuyu community never to vote in anyone before listening to him.

He vowed to help his community to make an informed decision in the next election to be held in 2027.The DP was accompanied by a section of MPs among them Embakasi North lawmaker James Gakuya…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
