After finishing third in the standings and competing in two cup finals, the center back had a very successful season with Chelsea. Antonio Rudiger has singled out one particular player as the one who has presented him with the most amount of difficulty during the course of the season.

The Germany international said that the Portuguese great Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United was the most challenging competitor he encountered throughout the current campaign.

“During the course of this season, Cristiano Ronaldo has distinguished himself as one of the most challenging competitors I’ve ever competed against. It was really difficult to place him, and his shooting and aerial skills are just remarkable. During an interview with sky sports, Antonio made the following statement:

This season, Ronaldo and Antonio Rudiger met each other twice while competing in the Premier League for their respective teams, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Both games between the two teams finished in a 1-1 tie. After agreeing to terms on a pre-contract with Real Madrid, Antonio Rudiger has said unequivocally that he will be leaving Chelsea for the Spanish powerhouse this summer.
