The 37 year old started the game from the bench but was introduced in the early minute after he came on for injured Anthony Martial in the 29th minute with him spotted all smiling, showing him to be a top class player who is ready to help and fight for the team in all situation not minding the uncertainty surrounding his future.

He has been struggling for playing time so far this season under new manager and Dutch tactician Erik ten Hag despite been his team’s top goalscorer across all competitions in the last campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo who was on the verge of forcing his way out of the club in the just concluded summer transfer window was convinced by the former Ajax Amsterdam manager who promised to make him part of his plan.

However, the scenario was different for the five times Ballon D’or winner who has spent majority of his time starting most games from the bench as a second half substitute with the manager claiming that he cannot operate at the pace he really wanted at the attacking line.

However, he was fortunate to come on into the pitch of play in the 29th minute after he was substituted for Anthony Martial who was forced off with a suspected injury sustained.
