Alai was responding to a statement made concerning the doctors’ strike and the proposed remuneration for medical interns.

The statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) said that:

In response to the statement, the Nairobi County MCA questioned the ignorance exhibited by the notion that MCAs are paid KSh 700,000.

Robert Alai shared his January payslip, which showed that he received a gross pay of KSh 186,648.
