Gachagua has lately been thrown to the guillotine as a section of lawmakers from Mt Kenya who religiously rally behind the president plan the former’s impeachment.

In recent weeks, the ever-politically charged Mt Kenya region, which Gachagua styled himself as its de facto leader, has been full of activities, with blocks emerging to dissent from him.

It began with some 48 lawmakers convening to rally behind Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki as the region’s go-to leader, followed by over 300 ward representatives who also declared their support for Kindiki, and then over 2,000 members of the revered Meru Council of Elders Njuri Ncheke following suit.

In the midst of the political goings-on, reports emerged that a motion to institute Gachagua’s ouster was already in the precincts of parliament and would be tabled soon.

We are telling him during the day that if he is tired of the Mt Kenya vote, just because he has united with others, he should leave us alone.

We know where we are headed. He is telling us to stop politicking about 2027, yet he is playing the same; we can’t stop. We want to tell him that he has annoyed us, and we see he is directing us to a place of doom. We will not accept,” fired Gakuyo.

The deputy president also reacted to the plans to impeach him. Gachagua claimed many Kenya Kwanza Alliance MPs had been bought to impeach him. A visibly angry Gachagua warned that those planning his ouster would not succeed, given that Kenyans elected him and not lawmakers. He rebuked the lawmakers behind his impeachment push, terming them selfish…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
