The window is yet to even officially open and the Blues are already in talks over several deals.

Chelsea are discussing a deal with AS Monaco to sign the central defender Benoît Badiashile.

But, the major deal that they are also in talks over is for World Cup star, Enzo Fernández.

The transfer looks to be moving very much in the right direction and the sum the west London club are prepared to pay is record-breaking.

According to Argentine journalist Esteban Edul, Chelsea are close to securing a deal for Enzo Fernández.

Negotiations with Benfica are well underway and are already at an advanced stage.

The Blues look set to secure one of the hottest young talents playing in Europe right now.

The midfielder was named the Best Young Player at the World Cup as he played a key role in helping Argentina secure their third world title.

Meanwhile, it is added that Chelsea accelerated talks over a deal for the 21-year-old on Thursday.

The Blues are understood to have offered his €127 million to get him out of Benfica.

This would break the record paid for a player by a British club, surpassing Man City’s £100 million deal for Jack Grealish.

Benfica are reluctant to lose him but will face no choice if Chelsea offer to pay his release clause.

His former club River Plate will benefit from the sale too as they are set to receive €31.75 million from the deal.
