However, the Blaugrana could now be set for another battle with another top European club for the signature of one of their primary targets in Sevilla’s centre-back, Jules Kounde.
Paris Saint-Germain, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, have reportedly entered the battle to sign Kounde from Sevilla this summer and have enquired about the Frenchman’s situation as they want to strengthen their defense.
Numerous elite clubs have been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old French international this summer. Barcelona, though, had emerged as his leading suitor as Chelsea’s interest in him began to fade.
This summer, Sevilla has been demanding in the region €60 million for their star defender, which has made it difficult for the La Liga heavyweights to sign the center-back.
When the agreements for Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele, and Robert Lewandowski are finalized, the Catalans are likely to turn their attention to Kounde since Xavi Hernandez is intent on securing his services.
